It was an incredible and rare desert bloom.
In March, I got word that I landed a job as a Visual Designer for a big old bank in downtown San Francisco. I accepted the position, but I had three weeks before my start date. Knowing that I was going to have an income again, I spent the last of my time and money on a road trip to see the amazing Superbloom of 2019. Superblooms only happen when it rains a lot the fall and winter prior, and this year it was non-stop rain. Sure enough, there were reports of desert flowers blooming all over southern California, so I went out to see them!
